Five Things To Do This Weekend: March 5-6

Looking for a few things to do this weekend? Medfield Patch provided you some suggestions on Thursday in our weekly feature,  and now we are highlighting five things you need to know around town. 

  •  This This annual event at , Saturday at 7p.m. allows members, friends and supporters in the local community to gather and raise money for the continuing work of the Church and to maintain the historic meetinghouse. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit food pantries in Medfield, Walpole, Millis, Norfolk, and Medway. The auction will feature an evening of music performed by the award winning Medfield High Jazz Band Combo, food, wine and silent and live auctions.  Among the items up for auction include; six sets of four Red Sox tickets, a time share in Puerto Rico, homemade dinner for six, a Boston weekend getaway, cases of wine, and a football signed by Patriots player Vince Wilfolk. Tickets are $20 per ticket. 
  • Cabin Fever Festival: Stop by 45 Hartford St. Saturday from 10am - 2pm to celebrate the final days of winter by getting out of the house and onto the trail with family, friends, and neighbors. Choose from a variety of activities during the day, from toasting marshmallows and sipping hot cocoa round a roaring bonfire to collecting natural materials and creating a craft to brighten your home. Festival costs $2 for members and $6 for nonmembers. Children 12 and under are free.
 
  •  Stop by the Zullo Gallery on Main St. Saturday at 8 p.m. for a musical performance by Teddy Larkin and Rick Dillon. Concert will help raise money for rennovations of the art gallery. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $8 per person. 
 
  • UCC Medfield Holds Praise Team Concert and Stem Cell Drive: There will be a free concert and a stem cell drive held at  Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. The UCC Medfield Praise Team will perform a free concert in the Great Room of the church. The hour-long program will include contemporary praise worship songs, as well as “secular” songs with a Christian theme from the rock, R&B and country music genres. n conjunction with the concert, the UCC Medfield Missions Team will be hosting a stem cell drive conducted by Dana Farber. 
  • Medfield High School Boys' Hockey vs. Abington in MIAA Tourney: The Warriors will face-off against Abington on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at Gallo Arena in Buzzards Bay for the MIAA Division 3 South Sectional Quarterfinals. Abington defeated Blue Hills, 10-3 in a first round game Friday and . Medfield is the field's 11th seed and Abington is the second seed.
