Easter Weekend Services in Medfield

Good Friday is April 6 and Easter is April 8 this year. Medfield's five churches are holding the following religious services.

Friday, April 6 is Good Friday – the Friday before Easter Sunday, which Christians observe as the commemoration of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Here's a look at the following religious services that will be held in town this weekend in honor of Easter.

The following Good Friday services will be held today:

  • The will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to allow you to come in and spend 30-45 minutes in a self-led, contemplative worship experience called Path to the Cross. This prayerful, meditative and reflective experience is intended for adults and older children (5th grade and above). Come slow down and walk with Jesus.
  • : Stations of the Cross at 9 a.m. and again for Families at 3 p.m. Liturgy of the Lord's Passion at 7:30 p.m.

Medfield's and the are not holding a Good Friday service.

The following Easter Sunday services will be held Sunday:

  • The First Baptist Church will hold a "Sonrise" service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Wheelock field and a Resurrection Sunday morning worship at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

  • The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church will be holding Easter Sunday service in the sanctuary from 10 to 11 a.m.

  • The United Church of Christ will hold threeEaster Sunday services: From 8:30 to 9 a.m. will be a family service; from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. is a festival service and from 11 a.m. to noon is a Praise Service.
  • St. Edward the Confessor Parish will hold three masses on Easter Sunday  7:30 to 8:30 a.m.; 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Episcopal Church of the Advent will hold two Easter Sunday services. The 9 a.m. service is a family service, which will be followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. The church's Festival Eucharist service will be held at 11 a.m.
