Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 2 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 72. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Thursday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 44. Northwest wind between 8 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Medfield Library's advisory group () will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. at the . This group is open to all students in grades 6-8 who wish to voice their opinions about library services and programs for teens. Snacks will be provided.

Warriors' Thursday: The  girls' and boys' varsity cross country teams will travel to Norton for a 3:30 p.m. meet. The boys' varsity golf team will travel to Medway for a 3 p.m. game.

Last Day to Register for Medfield Youth Basketball Association: Today is the last day to register online for the Medfield Youth Basketball Association's 2011-2012 in-town basketball program. To register, visit the league's website at www.medfieldbasketball.com. You can still register after the Sept. 15 deadline, but late fees will apply. The season begins the first week of December.
