Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 50. Northwest wind between 7 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers before 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 28. West wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Early Dismissal for Grades 1- 5: Due to Parent Teachers Conferences for grades K-5 there will be no AM/PM Kindergarten today and the following schools will have an early dismissal: Dale Street at 11:35 a.m.; Memorial at 11:35 a.m. and Wheelock at 12:10 p.m.

Notable Events:  

  • The Medfield High School Music Department will hold a Fall Music Recital at the from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Daily Room. Admission is free.
  • will hold a Financial Aide Informational session tonight beginning at 7. A financial aid expert from the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) will be available to discuss how to fill out the FAFSA (Free Application For Student Aid) form. They will also discuss loans, grants, college work-study and financial aid packaging. This informational event is open to all, but is highly recommended that parents of seniors attend.
  • The will hold a Pattycake Place Story Time today at 10:45 a.m. Children, ages 0-23 months old are invited to participate in the interactive storytime with their caregivers.  The library will also host a Book Bunch Storytime, beginning at 11:30 a.m. for preschoolers, ages 2 and 3.
