5 Things You Need to Know Today in Medfield, Jan. 26

Here's a look at the day ahead.

Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers, mainly after 5 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Thursday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers before 9 p.m., then rain showers. Patchy fog after 10 p.m. Low around 33. Southeast wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Notable Events:

  • will hold a Kindergarten Parent Info Night tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • will be hosting a presentation in the school's auditorium tonight at 7 p.m. to review the results of a MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey and MCA survey taken by seventh and eighth graders in Nov. 2010. The survey taken by Blake Middle School students provides a statistical look at trends related to bullying, stress, substance use and other health and wellness issues.
  • The will hold a Pattycake Place Story Time at 10:45 a.m. Children, ages 0-23 months old are invited to particpate in the interactive storytime with their caregivers. Also at the library today, will be the Book Bunch Storytime, beginning at 11:30 a.m. for preschoolers, ages 2 and up.

Warriors' Thursday: The girls' varsity ice hockey team faces off against Milton at the Ulin Ice Rink at 4 p.m.
