Today's Forecast: Friday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for showers likely, mainly before 2 p.m. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a southeast wind 7 to 10 mph becoming southwest between 21 and 24 mph. Winds could gust as high as 49 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Breezy, with a west wind between 15 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph.

  • Tai Chi for seniors at the Center will be held today at 10 a.m. The cost is $5 per class.
  • Warriors' Friday: The boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams will hit the courts this evening. The boys' team will host Ashland at 6:30 p.m. while the girls' team travels to Ashland for a 6:30 p.m. game. The boys' and girls' varsity swim teams travel to Norton for a 7 p.m. swim meet.
  • in Medfield will hold a Winter Tracking Program Saturday, Jan. 14 from noon to 3 p.m. Join Charley Eiseman from Northern Naturalists as he takes you on a walk in search of tracks from mink to moose. This program is great for both beginners and experienced trackers.  Learn about mammals, insects, winter plants and bird vocalizations.  Pre-Registration is required. For more details, visit the Trustees of Reservations webpage at or contact them at (508) 785-0339. Rocky Woods is located at 33 Hartford St. in Medfield. Admission: Adults is $10 for members and $20 for non-members; Child (12 and under) $5.
  • The , and the  are taking collections to help the Medfield Food Cupboard. The Medfield Food Cupboard needs the following items for January: Tissues, Cookies, 4 packs of Toilet Paper,  pasta sauce, canned chicken, juice boxes and bottles, raisins and little cups of apple sauce. Please drop off these items at your local church any Sunday.

Baseball Consultants Fundraiser to be Held Tonight: Baseball Consultants' "Charity Dodgeball Series" for high school students to benefit PMC/Jimmy Fund and local teams will be held from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Friday at Baseball Consultants on 106 Adams St. The fundraiser also helps support Medfield Warrior Baseball. Eight person teams cost $150  to enter tournament or it is $20 per person. There will be pizza and prizes. Baseball Consultants utilizes a community service model to offer a "Boutique Baseball" experience for area baseball and softball players and enthusiasts. Led by former pro, college All-American and Medfield star Garrett Larkin, the new Medfield Legion Baseball manager and Rutgers captain and professional educator Rob Mintz, who was a longtime summer youth baseball coordinator and current 10-year Medfield Legion Baseball general manager, offer customized programs based on professional, tried and true traditional techniques that immediately get players better and make it fun for all.
