5 Things You Need to Know Today in Medfield, Jan.12

Here's a look at the day ahead.

Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for rain, mainly before 5 p.m. Patchy fog. High near 42. Breezy, with a northeast wind 21 to 24 mph decreasing to between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. Thursday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 11 p.m. Patchy fog before 10 p.m., then patchy fog after 1 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 35. North wind at 7 mph becoming east. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Notable Events:  

  • The will hold two different story time events for children today. Pattycake Story Time, an interactive program for children ages 0-23 months and their caregivers, will begin at 10:45 a.m. Book Bunch Storytime, a program for preschoolers ages 2 and 3, will take place at 11:30 a.m.
  • The Blake Middle School fifth and sixth grade chorus and sixth grade orchestra will perform a concert tonight at 7 p.m. at the .
  • , an independent school for girls in grades 6-12, will host an Open House tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. As well as taking a tour of the campus, you will have the opportunity to meet current families and faculty, and hear from the Head of School, Karen Bohlin.
