5 Things: 40B Public Meeting, Boys' Hoops Tourney Opener and Library Events

Here's a quick look at what's happening today, Feb. 28 in Medfield.

Today's Forecast: Tuesday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind between 10 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. North wind between 5 and 8 mph becoming calm.

Notable Events:

  • The Town of Medfield will hold a public informational meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Town counsel Mark Cerel will join town officials to explain Chapter 40B, Medfield’s current affordable housing status, the 96-unit apartment complex proposal on West Street and answer questions from residents.
  • The boys' basketball team will host Norwood in the first round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional State Tournament at 7 p.m.
  • Blake Middle School CSA is holding a fundraiser at from 4 to 8 p.m. Be sure to mention Blake Middle School when ordering.

  • The Business & Job Resource Center will have a representative of the Boston office of the U.S. Bureau of the Census talk about how you can harness the vast resources of the U.S. Census to grow your business. This program which begins at 11 am is part of the small business development series and is funded with LTSA funds through the MA Board of Library Commissioners.
  • From 4 to 6 p.m., the Business and Job Resource Center will host a panel discussion on Teens in the Workforce followed by a job fair.  From 4-5 p.m. teens and their parents are invited to network with local businesses and learn what it takes to get a part-time, weekend or after-school job this summer.  Panelists will offer advice on how to present yourself to employers, interview, resume, coverletter tips and more.
