Today's Forecast: Friday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for rain and snow, becoming all rain after 9 a.m. Patchy fog before 8 a.m. High near 44. East wind between 5 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected. Friday Night: Rain likely before 1 a.m, then a slight chance of snow showers. Patchy fog before 10 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. North wind between 6 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

  • The will hold a Creative Writing Workshop for Teens in grades 6 through 12 today from 3 to 5 p.m. Author Peggy Rambach will lead a writing workshop for teens who want to learn about writing fiction and memoir.   • Senior Happenings at the Center: Tai Chi 10 a.m. ($5 per class) and Ladies Indoor Bocce 11 a.m.
  • Tickets are now available for the upcoming "Parents Night Out" event for the graduating Class of 2012 sponsored by the Medfield High School Alumni Association. Parents of the Class of 2012 are invited to enjoy a night out to celebrate the Class of 2012's upcoming graduation at the Medfield American Legion Hall on Saturday, March 3rd from 7 to 11 p.m. This event will feature a cash bar and a light snack at a cost of $15 per person or $25 per couple. Proceeds will benefit the class of 2012.   • The , , , and the are taking collections to help the Medfield Food Cupboard. Although the Medfield Food Cupboard will accept all non-perishable items, the following items are need for February: juice,  cookies, crackers, applesauce in little cups, 4-pack rolls of toilet paper and single rolls of paper towels. Please drop off these items at your local church any Sunday.
