Today's Forecast: Friday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a slight chance of showers after 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. South wind between 3 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Friday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 9 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 38. South wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Notable Events:

• The will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 31st through  Monday, Jan. 2nd  for the New Year’s Holiday and will re-open on Tuesday,  Jan.3rd.

• The Medfield Transfer Station will be open today through Saturday, Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Medfield Transfer Station Sticker is required.

• Exercise for Life for seniors at the Center will be held today at 10:15 a.m.
  The Center will close early today at 1 p.m. for the holiday season and will re-open on Tuesday, Dec. 27th.

• The will hold a Holiday Party and Gingerbread House Iron Chef Event for students in grades 6 - 12 tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This fun event will feature music, food and games as students partake in a little friendly competition during the Gingerbread House making workshop. Each team will receive candy canes, gumdrops and a secret ingredient to create a one of a kind Gingerbread House, iron chef style. As well as prizes, the winning creation will be displayed in the library as well as their website. Students are also asked to leave the apron behind and wear their ugliest sweater.
