Five Things You Need To Know Today is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.

Today's Forecast: Wednesday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 37 by 5 p.m. West wind between 11 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 19. West wind between 14 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

  • Medfield Writes – Writing Group meets every Wednesday from 1 to
    2:30 p.m. at the in one of the conference rooms.  Please bring your poems, stories, writings to share.
  • Warriors' Wednesday: The boys' varsity hockey team take the ice tonight at 8 p.m. at Bourne High School.
  • The Senior Center holds a "Fit to Knit" session every Wednesday at 2 p.m. This class is free and open to all community adults.

The will host several events today:

  • Children and teens in grades four and up are invited to stop by the Medfield Library every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. to choose and play from a collection of Wii games. The gaming station will be set up in the lower level meeting room.
  • Pattycake Place Story Time will be held at 10:45 a.m. Children, ages 0-23 months old are invited to particpate in the interactive storytime with their caregivers. A Toddler Storytime for pre-schoolers ages 2 and 3 will be held at 11:30 a.m.
