5 Things You Need to Know Today in Medfield, Aug. 25

Here's a look at the day ahead.

Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service  based in Taunton, calls for a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 81. South wind between 11 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 4 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 68. Southwest wind between 6 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Notable Events:

  •  has announced that there will be no story time from Aug. 25th to Sept. 10th. Story times will resume with the Autumn session, which begins on Sept. 11th.
  • The  will be open today from 2 to 5:30 p.m. on the grounds of the  at 26 North St. Fresh produce and food will be offered by local farmers and producers. Parking is available behind the Church.  This Farmers' Market now has four vendors on site: Langwater FarmWard's  Berry FarmBlue Moon Bakery, and Medfield Green
  • Medfield High School will hold an incoming  tonight at 7 in the high school auditorium. The administration and guidance staff will be on hand to answer any questions parents might have regarding high school programming and the freshman transition into high school.
