5 Things You Need to Know Today in Medfield, Aug. 24

Here's a look at the day ahead.

Today's Forecast: Wednesday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind between 5 and 14 mph. Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. South wind around 8 mph.

  • An  for children today from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Bring a blanket and meet on the lawn behind the gazebo with your snack or picnic lunch. Your children will get to enjoy picture books and summer stories.
  • – the Summer Reading Program for Adults, will hold a picnic lunch for adults with Tim Flaherty at 12 pm.  Tim will discuss his time in the Peace Corps and subsequent travels to Guatemala noon. Bring your lunch and your own travel stories to share.

Photo Contest: Grab your camera and head to the parks. The Trustees of Reservations is pleased to announce the 5th annual . From June 22 to Sept. 22, visit any of The Trustees properties in the Charles River Valley and submit your best photos in six categories. The Best in Show winner will receive a Trustees membership and a winter share of produce at Powisset Farm. Contests will be able to summit their favorite shots in six subject categories, including “On the Farm,” a new category this year for photographs taken at our Powisset Farm property in Dover. Trustees properties in Medfield include: (Rocky Woods, Fork Factory Brook, Noon Hill, Shattuck Reservation, Medfield Rhododendrons, Medfield Meadow Lots, and Bridge Island Meadows)  Information, rules and regulations can be found HERE.
