5 Things You Need to Know in the Week Ahead: Aug. 22-28

Five-Day Forecast: According to weather.com, Medfield is expected to see mostly sun with a chance of showers and a high temperature of 79 degrees on Monday. Tuesday is likely to be mostly sunny with a high of 76 degrees. Wednesday calls for a high of 78 degrees and mostly sunny. There's a chance of thunderstorms of Thursday with a high of 82 degrees. Friday will likely be sunny with a high of 80 degrees. 

Medfield High School Fall Sports Begin: The Medfield High School football team will hold its first official practice of the fall season Monday beginning at 2 p.m. with a meeting at the high school. All other fall sports open on Thursday, Aug. 25. The Medfield Field Hockey team will meet at Metacomet Field at 8 a.m. on Friday. The Medfield boys' soccer team will meet at Wheelock Field Friday at 8:30 a.m. Medfield girls' soccer team will meet Friday at Wheelock Field at 5:30 p.m. The Medfield girls' volleyball team will meet at the high school gym at 6 p.m. on Friday. 

Medfield High School Incoming Freshmen Parent Q&A: Medfield High School encourages parents of incoming freshmen to attend a special Question & Answer Session Thursday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The administration and guidance staff will be on hand to answer any questions parents might have regarding high school programming and the freshman transition into high school.

Board Meetings: Medfield's Planning Board committee will meet Monday at 8 p.m. on the second floor of Town Hall. The Conservation Commission (ConCom) will meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of Town Hall to discuss and vote on the Order of Conditions for DCAM regarding the C&D area of the Medfield State Hospital and Notice of Intent.  

Happenings at Medfield Public Library: The Monday Needs & Leads Networking Group will meet at the library at 10:30 a.m. There will be Crafts from Around the World Summer program at the library at 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Needham Bank will present "Finding Money for Your Business" workshop at the library on Tuesday at 11 a.m. There will be a book bunch for children at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The library will present "Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Rodrick Rules" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pattycake Place storytime will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday. Outdoor lunch bunch for children at the library will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Library will welcome author and storyteller, Mark Binder on Wednesday at 4 p.m. There will be a teen summer reading party at 3 p.m. on Friday.
