5 Things: Tax Day, Community Quilt Program and MHS Sports

Here's a look at the day ahead for Tuesday, April 17.

Today's Forecast: Tuesday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for sunny, with a high near 78. West wind between 8 and 16 mph. Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40. Northwest wind between 8 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

  • Tax Day: Today is the deadline for filing your 2011 tax return and paying any taxes owed.
  • There will be a free football skills clinic at for grades 8-12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

will host two activities today:

  • A Community Quilt Program for children of all ages will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Activity Room. Create a special design to be sewed into a Medfield Quilt, which will be displayed in the Children's Room. Please register HERE, in person at the Children's Desk or by calling (508) 359-4544 x8014.
  • The library’s Teen Advisory Group (TARGET) invites teens in grades 6 to 12 to drop by from 5 and 6 p.m. and help plan teen events for the library, including open mic nights, movie nights and discussion groups. Snacks will be provided.

  • The baseball team hosts Wellesley at noon and the boys' volleyball team hosts Douglas at 5 p.m.
