Purchase of Medfield State Hospital at Town Meeting - YES Vote!

With a full gymnasium and a packed cafeteria at Medfield High School, the voters of Medfield turned out to say YES to purchasing the parcels of land offered to the Town of Medfield last night at the Special Town Meeting.

The Selectman, the Warrant Committee and the Town Administrator all backed the purchase of this land and buildings.  The Selectman, Richard DeSorgher, Pete Peterson, and Mark Fisher, as well as Town Administrator, Mike Sullivan each spoke a few words in favor of this purchase.

Steve Nolan, from SHAC (State Hospital Advisory Committee) gave a clear and concise power point presentation and there were very few questions after it.

The voting was declared UNANIMOUS, as were the 2 follow up Articles at Town Meeting, and the Meeting was closed before 9pm.

The next important step in this process is the March 31st election.  Registered voters must take this 2nd step and cast a VOTE to complete this process of purchasing the Medfield State Hospital parcels.
