OLYMPIC Events at Dale Street School!

Just before February vacation week, students at the Dale Street School in both grades 4 and 5 participated in their own version of the Olympics!

In the Dale Street School Winter Olympics, every student was assigned to one of the eight countries competing.  On the day I stopped by, the students were competing in the Biathlon events and Curling.

As you can see by the photos, Biathlon involved gymnasium floor "snow' shoeing, and then tossing a ball into a bucket!

Curling involved using a semi-deflated ball, getting "rolled" across the gymnasium and positioned as close to the mark as possible.  A foam paddle was then used to hit the target.

These events were cleverly created, and the official scoreboard kept track of the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.  All in all, I would say, everyone was a winner at these Olympics.
