Write Here, Write Now! A Student Play Festival has a Medfield winner!

Medfield High School sophomore's play selected to have read at prestigious theatre!

 

Andy Letai, a Medfield High School sophomore, is one of three area students selected from a large pool of candidates to have his play read at this professional theater.

Trinity Repertory Company’s Education Department is proud to announce the winners of their second annual Write Here, Write Now! Student Playwriting Competition. Staged readings of the winning scripts for will take place on Monday, April 8th at 7:00pm on the Dowling Theater stage at Trinity Rep. Acting in the readings will be Trinity Rep company members and graduate students from the Brown/Trinity MFA Programs.

This year’s winning plays are:
In "Revelation" by Bonnie Atterstrom from Framingham High School in Framingham, MA, Gabriel searches for answers in the darkest and most painful place he knows- his own memory.

In "Bloom In December" by Kirby Kochanowski from Rogers High School in Newport, RI, a young boy struggling with loss pledges to save the only flower still alive in an icy December. In "Bloom In December" by Kirby Kochanowski from Rogers High School in Newport, RI, a young boy struggling with loss pledges to save the only flower still alive in an icy December.

In "Revision" by Andy Letai from Medfield High School in Medfield, MA, a group of friends discover the power to edit their lives, and things go wrong…fast.

Honorable mentions were awarded to the play Choo Choo Me Home by Carrie Miller from Framingham High School in Framingham, MA and The Gospel of Thad by Ahmer Kidwai from Moses Brown School in Providence, RI.
