Dwight-Derby House Shoppe and Kitchen Concert Series Was a Great Success!

Dwight-Derby House Shoppe & June Kitchen Concert Series a great success!

The second in a series of events scheduled at the Dwight-Derby House was held on the first Thursday in June and it was a great success!

On June 6 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, The Dwight-Derby House Shoppe held their Dads & Grads sale and all proceeds support the ongoing preservation and restoration of the Dwight-Derby House.

The Dwight-Derby House was also open for tours during "Shoppe hours"  that same day.

In addition to the Shoppe, the second of the Kitchen Concert Series was held from 7pm - 10:30pm and was a fun evening for all who attended. Everyone there enjoyed listening to Medfield’s own trumpeter, Tom Duprey who was accompanied by jazz guitarist David Hawthorne of Cambridge.

Admission to these evening concerts is $25 per person, and is all inclusive.  Those who attended were not only entertained by Duprey and Hawthorne, but enjoyed delicious entrees and salads from "Basil's" and wine/beer tastings provided by "Palumbo Liquors".

These Kitchen Concerts are "First Thursdays" events and will help to raise funds for the next phase of restoration of the house: installation of a working kitchen.

The next scheduled date for the Dwight-Derby Shoppe to open and the third in the Kitchen Concert Series is August 1st.

Come experience colonial history in the heart of Medfield. The house, a National Register of Historic Places property, is a fine example of a mid-century 1700s home resting in a setting that has not been altered much by the ravages of time.
