LARGE TURNOUT FOR MSH WALKING TOUR!

More than 175 town residents took part in the third of a series of tours at the former Medfield State Hospital on Saturday.  This tour was the last one given before Monday's Special Town Meeting which will decide if Medfield or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts determines the future of the property.

Led by John Thompson, Bill Massaro and Richard DeSorgher the residents were taken through the core campus and given information on the history of the property, the environmental condition of the former hospital and a look at what is at stake at Monday nights' special town meeting.

It was the perfect weather for the two hour tour. The sky was bright blue and the walkways were mostly clear of snow and mud, so the residents were able to see for themselves the beauty of the land and the layout of what was once a community of over 2,000 residents.

A question and answer session and a discussion of what the future may hold ended the tour, as residents were reminded the importance of attending the special town meeting on Monday night, March 10 at 7:30 at the Medfield High School gymnasium.
