Farmers' Market opens this week

Medfield Farmers' Market opens May 30 and will include fresh fish, produce and even doggie treats

The Medfield Farmers’ Market is now open on the lawn of the First Parish UU Church, 26 North St. every Thursday from 2-6:30 PM. The colorful displays of berries and other fruit and vegetables under the canopies of the two farm stands:  Langwater Farm of Easton and Wards Berry Farm of Sharon/Foxboro, will beckon and there is parking in the rear of the church if not on North St.

This year Jordan Bros. Seafood offers the freshest fish available anywhere and Garden Farms of Bellingham returns weekly with homemade jellies, preserves, mustards and relishes that provide a gourmet touch to every meal.  In addition, Wild Daisy Soap, a Walpole neighbor, offers all natural soaps and potions, one of which is a citronella stick, non-toxic and easy to use for a bug repellent. Also new to the market this year is a vendor for pet owners.  Bark Back Bakery has homemade, gluten-free treats.

Websites are a good way to learn about the vendors: Langwaterfarm.com, wardsberryfarm.com, garden-farms.com, Jordanbrothersseafood.com, wilddaisysoap.com and barkbackbakery.com.

An easy Thursday night supper might include some fresh fish, just picked salad greens & ingredients, early spring vegetables and delicious fresh berries for dessert.  It can be done easily by shopping at the market before dinner-time.  Oh and don’t forget a new and favorite spicy relish to complement the fish.  Of course the dog is waiting for a treat too so visit Bark Back Bakery.

Community organizations are welcome to participate without a fee and may use their space to promote the organization’s mission or to raise funds.  To learn more about opportunities or to schedule a date to be a part of the festivities please contact Eve Potts at 509-359-6581.
