Where to Book That Valentine's Dinner

Zebra's Bistro: A romantic setting that embodies the atmosphere of a South End restaurant without leaving town. Zebra's on North Street offers a delicious variety of dishes such as the grilled Scottish salmon with roasted corn, tomato and ginger salsa, crab-risotto cake and watercress; Pan seared statler chicken breast over crispy polenta with a porcini mushrooms and port wine demi-glace; Grilled center cut sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes, famous crispy parmesan asparagus and onion strings, 7oz cut or 14oz cut. For dessert there is a flourless chocolate cake, flan or creme brulee. Be sure to take a look at their impressive wine menu as well and make reservations early!

Basil Restaurant: A fantastic neighborhood restaurant that offers American cuisine. Chef and owner Tom McGue changes the menu seasonally, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes. The main room is quiet and comfortable and the pub is relaxed and casual. Take a look at their impressive selection of wines and menu that includes various appetizers, soups, salads, pastas and Italian specialties. 

Takara: For those who love traditional Japanese cuisine and sushi, this restaurant tucked away on Green Street is the place for you. Its experienced chefs create delicious and artistic dishes such as the caterpillar rolls, which are laced with thin avocado and made to look like the real thing and the tuna is fresh and delicious. The restaurant has a modern design and relaxed atmosphere.

 This Valentine's weekend menu includes appetizer and dessert specials meant to be shared for two. Enjoy their choice filet mignon or slow roasted osso buco, designed for this weekend's special menu by Chef Peter Dexter. Located on Route 1 in Norwood this is a great local option for a romantic dinner with that special someone.

 Sky Restaurant is another locale offering special Valentine's Day dishes all this weekend. Entrees include a slow roasted prime rib, braised Australian lamb shank and a fresh Maine lobster pot pie. Each entree is also listed with a wine pairing suggestion. And for dessert? House-made chocolate truffles.

 You could also check out The Chateau, which is offering a number of Valentine’s Day specials, including a wine and drink special, as well as a lobster bisque appetizer. Entrees being featured on Monday include veal chicken and ravioli dishes, as well as Angus Prime Rib. And, for those of you with a sweet tooth, carrot cake will be the featured desert.
