RI Judge Allows Lawsuit Against Schilling Company to Move Ahead

Rhode Island's economic development agency has sued a now-bankrupt company led by former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling. Schilling lives in Medfield.

A Rhode Island judge on Wednesday allowed a state lawsuit brought against former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling's defunct video company to proceed.

According to a post on WBUR, the National Public Radio station for Boston, Superior Court Judge Michael Silverstein will allow Rhode Island's economic development agency to proceed with its lawsuit against Schilling, other former 38 Studios executives, former EDC officials and others.

According to WBUR, the suit accuses the partners of fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and other acts that misled the agency’s board into approving a $75 million state loan to the company in 2010.

Schilling lives in Medfield. His home has been on the market since October 2012. Initially listed at $3.5 million, the 26-acre estate home has had a price reduction. It is now offered at $3.2 million, according to the listing on Landmark Residential.
