  • Garden Farms Gourmet Foods, Bellingham
  • Jordan Brothers Seafood, Brockton
  • Wild Daisy Soap, Walpole
  • Bark Back Bakery, Bellingham

"We had a bakery but they backed out so we're looking for another bakery to come in," said Dan Bibel, one of the market's organizers who continue to look for new vendors to join the market.

The Medfield Farmers’ Market will be open on Thursdays through August 2 p.m. to 5:30 pm on the grounds of the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church, 26 North Street.

John Skvir of Ward's Berry Farm is a return vendor.

"Everything is locally grown, about 99 percent of it on our farm in Sharon and the rest in Western Massachusetts," he said. "Today, we have mostly greens, eight or nine different types of lettuce, spring onions, herbal plants, and our very popular baked goods."

Also offering baked goods (of a different variety) this year is Bark Back Bakery of Bellingham which offers pet treats for dogs and they will soon be bringing cat treats.

Rob Jordan of Jordan Brothers Seafood of Brockton is new to the market this year.

"We do farmers' markets all around. Today went well; we sold out of mussels, hake, and sea scallops," he said outside his refrigerated truck.

Sam Gray of Langwater Farms, one of the first vendors to join the original Medfield Farmers' Market, said his best seller of the day was beets.

"We have lots of fresh local produce from right on our [North Easton] farm; it's all grown there organically," he said.

While Langwater will be at the market each week offering a variety of produce, they also offer an Organic Harvest Box -- which consists of a farm-chosen selection of in-season crops picked at the farm, packed in a box, and brought to the Medfield Farmer's Market for customer pick-up -- for $20 a box. Exciting things were happening at the Garden Farms Gourmet Foods table where Donna Latham was selling her homemade jams, jellies, relish, and ketchup (new this year).

"I'm always coming up with new things," she said. "This year I've added red onion marmalade which is really good, apple butter, strawberry sangria, ketchup and a maple bourbon grilling sauce."

Latham said she can't keep the grilling sauce in stock because it's just that good. She hopes to have some with her next week.
