Happy Helping Hands Make Thoughtful Donation to Medfield Animal Shelter

Blankets donated to Medfield Animal Shelter; Jethro and Maury are the Pets of the Week.

On Feb. 10, six members of the philanthropic group The Happy Helping Hands dropped off 21 handmade fleece blankets at the Medfield Animal Shelter.  The blankets are for the animals that are sheltered there.

Medfield Animal Shelter's Pets of the Week: Meet Maury and Jethro
Maury and Jethro were recently transferred to the Medfield Animal Shelter from another rescue group.  Jethro is approximately 2 or 3 years old and is the younger of the two dogs. He is 70 lbs. – a big dog – but is very gentle and sweet.  He does pull on the leash, and will need an experienced dog owner willing to train him to pull less and therefore make the walk more pleasant for everyone.

The Medfield Animal Shelter vet thinks Maury is 8 or 9 years old, and he weighs about 50 lbs.  Both dogs are Treeing Walker Coon Hounds and are typical for the breed, which is known for being great with children and getting along well with other dogs. Hounds are also known for being even-tempered, relatively easy to train and for making great pets as long as they have active owners willing to give them daily exercise. The shelter will be placing the dogs separately, but they do get along very well together and seem to enjoy each other's company.  Both dogs are neutered and up-to-date on their vaccinations.  If you are interested in adopting either dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on the shelter's website.
