Fan Says Lord's Belongs in "Retail Hall of Fame"

The Thrifty New Englander stopped by Lord's recently and said Medfield's piece of Americana belonged in a Retail Hall of Fame.

The editor of The Thrifty New Englander talks about his disappointment that Lord's Department Store is closing after 73 years in business.

The writer tells of his recent visit to the store -- complete with mention of Bubble Gum Bob and Ruthie's Diner -- and says the store should be placed in the retail "Hall of Fame."

His tale is all-too-familiar as he shares his "heartbreak" over the closing of Medfield's little piece of Americana.

Do you agree? Do you think Lord's would qualify for a Retail Hall of Fame? Tell us in the comments is you agree or disagree.

Definitely should be in Hall of Fame. Countless times we have forgotten batteries on Christmas morning, someones birthday and especially when our kids were in school the "OH I need poster paper or colored paper for report due tomorrow." As a Sunday School teacher for many years at the First Baptist Church next door, the younger ones would ask, "Why does God live next door and not here?" Really going to miss this wonderful store.
