Reason for running: This is my first time running a marathon and I will be doing it as a member of the Mass General Marathon Team, Fighting Kids' Cancer... One Step at a Time. My older brother, Gus, was diagnosed with leukemia when he was in middle school and battled the disease throughout his years as a teenager. Despite the greatest efforts of him and those involved in his treatment, including Mass General, he passed away during his senior year of high school. Being able to run for such a great cause and have a positive impact on children who are in a similar position as my brother was is an opportunity I would regret not taking advantage of.
