Medfield Heads Back to School

It was a big day in Medfield for nearly 3,000 students.

About 2,800 students returned to Medfield Schools on Tuesday, ending a long summer break and returning to their academics. At the elementary schools, the first day, for the most part, was spent getting to know other students and teachers.

At the Ralph Wheelock School, home to the district's second and third graders, the principal took time to blog on Tuesday mid-day, assuring parents that everything was going fine on the first day.

"Lunch and recess went really well and I am looking forward to our Welcome Back Assembly at 2:30, where our children will meet the faculty and staff and review a few minor rules," wrote Principal Donna Olson. "I hope when the children return to you today, they too will have great news to share."

At Medfield High School, the first day came with a few laughs. A woman in a pencil costume made the rounds, posing for a few photos. Shonda Schilling proves that having a good sense of humor at school is as essential as a good backpack.
