Tickets Still Available for Medfield Jazz Night

The Medfield High School Jazz Band Ensemble will perform its Jazz Night concert Friday night at the Lowell Mason Auditorium.

Tickets are still available for Medfield High School's annual Jazz Night
concert on Friday, April 29, which this year features guest performer
and trumpeter, Alex Sipiagin, in a warm-up for his New Orleans appearance
with the Mingus Big Band.

Tunes expected to be in the line-up that night include “Decoupage” and
“Georgia on my Mind.”

Sipiagin will spend the school day conducting jazz workshops with
students, followed by a guest performance during the concert. His visit
is made possible through funds raised by the Medfield Music Association
through ticket sales and the organization's annual Spaghetti with Santa
event.

Medfield's Jazz Band Ensemble I has had a memorable year, winning a national
title in the high school division of the Charles Mingus big band
competition in New York City in February. Following the performance,
Justin DiCioccio, Assistant Dean and Chair of Manhattan School of
Music’s Jazz Arts Program said, “The level of playing was remarkable and
the best that I have ever heard at the high school level.”

The high school jazz choir and jazz band II will also perform at the
Lowell Mason Auditorium at Medfield High for Jazz Night.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors, and
are available at Lord's Department Store. Proceeds support music
programs in all of Medfield schools. For more information, see
