Medfield Girls to Dance in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Girls from the Medfield Dance Academy will once again take part in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

The Medfield Dance Academy girls will join 500 other dancers from around the country with the "Spirit of America Dance Team" in New York City to participate in the Macy's Day Parade on Thanksgiving. 

This will be the group's 26th performance in the Thanksgiving Day parade.

The parade will be broadcast on NBC from 9 a.m. to noon.

The girls from the Medfield Dance Academy will be one of Macy's "Featured Stars" in this parade.

The team left on Saturday and will spend five days rehearsing in NYC.

On Thanksgiving morning, they will awaken to a 5 a.m. for breakfast, have a quick rehearsal, then take the subway to the start of the parade.

The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is the unofficial kick-off to the holiday season. 

Every year, more than three million people line the streets of New York to watch the parade as well as more than 50 million people who watch it on television.
