Local Author Celebrates Release of Latest Creation at Park Street Books

Medfield's David Biedrzycki shared the release of his latest book, "Me and My Dragon" with fans at Park Street Books on May 14.

“I came to see him and to meet him,” said Ava, after the Medfield author signed her book, adding that her favorite Biedrzycki character is Ace Lacewing – the star of the “Ace Lacewing: Bug Detective” series.

“He is definitely her favorite author,” said her mother, noting they have read all of his books.

Boudreau was one of a roomful of children who attended the release party, where Biedrzycki demonstrated his creative process from start to finish.

By using humor that appealed to children of all ages (and the adults as well), the Medfield author explained how he uses a computer program to create his illustrations.  He then created Hugh the Beetle, his girlfriend-then-wife Ruby, Baby Beetle Hughie and all his little brothers and sisters for the children to enjoy.

“It’s always fun to come to this store,” said Biedrzycki, as he signed books and handed out colorful posters to the children.

Biedryzcki visits elementary schools around the world – he recently returned from overseas  to share his creative process.  For more information, visit http://www.davidbiedrzycki.com/ or contact artofdave@aol.com .  Advanced copies of “Me and My Dragon” are also available for school libraries through the website.
