Weekend Planner: Historical Tours, Art Exhibit and Trivia

Here's a look at the weekend ahead for May 25-27.

Here's a look at what's happening around the area this weekend.

1. Medfield Historical Society Open House

Where/When: , 6 Pleasant St., Medfield; Saturday May 26, 10 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: The museum now holds its newest special exhibit entitled: "Your Historical Society Then and Now." There will be lots of interesting photographs, documents and artifacts on display. Feel free to stop in to browse through its collections and materials that document the history of Medfield since its founding in 1649. Learn more about this history of Medfield, your family genealogy, famous people of Medfield and much more.

Pricing: Admission is free and open to the public, although donations to help defray preservation and curation costs are always appreciated.

2. Historic Caryl House and Fisher Barn Open House

Where/When: , 107 Dedham St., Dover; Saturday, May 26 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: The Dover Historical Society invites you to visit the The 1777 Caryl House and Fisher Barn during their open house season every Saturday from April 7th through June 30th. Take a step back into history and see how The Reverend Benjamin Caryl and his family lived in 18th century Dover following the American Revolution. The Fisher Barn holds the Historical Society's collection of farm tools highlighting Dover's agricultural past.

The 1906 Sawin Museum, located at 80 Dedham St will also be open on Saturdays, 1-4 PM. Come and see the new exhibits.

Pricing: Tours are free.

3. F. Holland Day House Tours and Exhibits

Where/When: , 93 Day Street, Norwood; Saturday, May 26 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Who Go: The Norwood Historical Society invites you to visit the historical Day House, now open every Sunday for tours and seasonal exhibits from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Pricing: Tours are $5 per person (free for Historical Society members).

4. Zullo Gallery, "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition"

Where/When: , 456 Main St., Medfield; Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th from 12 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Why Go: Zullo Art Gallery newest art exhibit, "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition", will be on display this weekend. This exhibit is heavily influenced by the launch of its first “one-town, one-book” selection of 'Outwitting History' by Aaron Lansky. "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition," according to Zullo Gallery, features artwork that reflects any aspect of the artists' personal cultural legacy, whether family heritage, lessons or experiences learned from previous generations, or stories from the past.  "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition" will run from April 5 through June 24.

5. Trivia Tyme at TGI Friday's

Where/When: , 1345 Boston Turnpike Parkway, Norwood; Sun., May 27, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Hosted by DJ Nick, Trivia Tyme delivers an exciting, enjoyable, and professional trivia presentation for contestants to have a great time! Trivia Rounds Include: Wheel of Fortune, Picture Rounds, Current Events, Who/What Am I and Multiple Choice. Prizes are awarded to the top winning teams.
