Weekend Planner: Town-Wide Dance, Jazz Concert and a Book Sale

Here's a look at what's happening this weekend in Medfield, March 23-25.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have is not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just isn't cutting it anymore, then don't worry, Medfield Patch is here to assist you! Check out our list of suggestions of events to attend, places to go, sites to see – all within driving distance of home. 

1. The Medfield Youth Action Committee's Town-Wide Swing Dance

Where/When: , 124 North St., Medfield; Friday, March 23, 7 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: The Medfield Youth Action Committee, a student-led initiative in town, is hosting a town-wide dance at the Pfaff Center Friday at 7 p.m. for its first event. The event will feature feature music from the nationally recognized and award-winning and offer swing dance lessons from students of the newly formed MHS dance club for those interested. Apple pie from Ever So Humble Pie in East Walpole will be served along with ice cream. The event is an effort by the committee to bring the town together and offer more community-wide events. Any proceeds from the event will benefit the Medfield High School Jazz Band as it looks to raise funds for a .

2. Jazz Concert by the Brad Ellenberg Quintet

Where/When: , 268 Main St., Medfield; Sunday, March 25, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Spend the afternoon at the library to enjoy a free concert of jazz originals and standards by the Brad Ellenberg Quintet.

3. Medfield Friends of the Library Book Sale

Where/When: , 468 Main St., Medfield; Saturday, March 24, 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: The Friends of the Medfield Library is holding a book sale on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bags can be filled of books for $5.

Pricing: Free, Open to all.

4. Art 'N Bloom Exhibit

Where/When: , 268 Main St., Medfield;
Friday, March 23, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday March 25, 2 to 5 p.m.

The Art N' Bloom is a joint collaboration between the Medfield Garden Club and art students from Medfield High School.  Approximately 25 various works of spring inspired artwork will be displayed with beautiful floral arrangements throughout the library.
