Their "Love Your (Earth) Mama!" campaign lists several ways to celebrate this initiative which started in 1970. Here are a few suggestions from the Trustees.
- Head to our Earth Day Work Day or our Earth Day Coastal Clean Up.
- Pack a picnic. Find a perfect picnic spot; remember to pack a waste-free picnic.
- Organize a volunteer clean-up. Grab your friends, family, or colleagues and ask your local Trustees property if they need help with raking, planting, pruning, or…anything! Or check out our list of volunteer opportunities.
- Find or host a swap event. Why buy new if you can trade?
- Get outside. There are tons of outdoorsy options, near and far – you can plan out an adventure or just go where your feet lead.
- Cook a locavore feast. Challenge yourself to source your ingredients from close-to-home! (Have you checked out our farms lately? We still have CSA shares available at a farm near you!)
- Go tech-FREE for a day.
- Park the car. We even have a handful of properties that are accessible by public transportation.
- Hug a tree!
