"The Fathoms" at Dwight-Derby Tonight

The event starts tonight at 7 p.m. at the Dwight-Derby House.

The Fathoms, a well-known surf band from the Boston area, will provide the entertainment at tonight's fifth Kitchen Concert to benefit the Dwight-Derby House.

"The Fathoms have a wide range of songs they preform and are like a blast from the past. It should be a toe tapping night," said Cheryl O'Malley, President of the Friends of the Dwight-Derby House.

Leader and song writer Frankie Blandino has been a fixture on the Boston music scene where he has played and recorded with some of Boston's coolest musicians and bands such as The Cranktones and The Spurs in addition to The Fathoms.  He has several of his own albums under his belt and has contributed to the soundtracks of several motion pictures.

The Fathoms have been around in many incarnations since 1995 and were once voted one of the top instrumental surf bands of all time by Goldmine Magazine.  Their albums include “Fathomless,” “Overboard,” and “Fathom This!”    Members Neil Curran, Rob Amaral, and Steve McCrossan have played in many other bands prior to joining The Fathoms.
