Seniors Enjoy 30th Annual Christmas Party

Medfield seniors enjoyed the annual event on Sunday.

Medfield seniors enjoyed the 30th annual Tri-Club Christmas Party at the American Legion on Sunday.

The event was sponsored by the Medfield American Legion, the Medfield Lions Club, and the Medfield Sportsman's Club.

"It's a nice day, it's a feel-good day," said Ken Heavey, a Lion who has been running the event for 15 years.  "It's a sea of [holiday] red here; it's a nice time."

Desserts were prepared by the Medfield Legion Auxiliary, spirits were donated by Wally Shackley, poinsettias were donated by Medfield Properties, and decorations were provided by the Sons of Legion.

Entertainment was provided by The Paul Gookin Trio.

Committee chairmen included Al Manganello with the American Legion, Ken Heavey with the Lions Club, and Ross Jacobson with the Sportsman Club, who extended special thanks to the Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization and the Friends of Medfield Seniors for their continued support.

Heavey said the Medfield Lions Club raises money for community programs such as the luncheon as well as for national eye research.

"We have about 90 members in the Lions Club; you name it, we're involved in it," he said, noting they are now selling Christmas trees at the Shaw's Plaza.
