REMINDER: Farmer’s Market, Summer Concert Series Open Today

The debut of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church's Farmer's Market and MEMO's first show of its Summer Concert Series are Thursday.

There are two events happening Thursday to further signify summer in Medfield has begun.

MEMO’s annual Summer Concert Series begins at 6 p.m. at the Gazebo with the award-winning Medfield High School Jazz Ensemble providing the night’s musical entertainment and Medfield’s first Farmer’s Market will debut outside the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church on North Street at 1 p.m. and be open until 5 p.m.

The Medfield High School Jazz Ensemble is nationally recognized; winning the prestigious Charles Mingus band competition in New York City in February, played at Boston’s Hatch Shell and have produced nine CDs.

The 10 concerts, from June 16 through Aug. 18, begin at 6 p.m. and are free and open to the public. In addition to enjoying the bands, many concert-goers have fun watching the uninhibited little ones dancing to the music. Family picnics are encouraged through the dinner hour performances.

The 10-week series is supported by The with MEMO member hosts helping to defray the cost of the individual performances.

For the first time in the long, impressive history of Medfield, a farmer’s Market will line outside North Street from 1 to 5 p.m. and will feature 10 vendors. The Farmer's Market is scheduled to run from June through October, with the possibility of extending it beyond the fall season.
