UPDATE: Power Still Out in Elm Street Area

Updated Dec. 26, 2014 at 9:00 p.m.

Power was restored around 8:30 p.m. to the Elm Street neighborhoods affected by the transformer hit earlier this evening on South Street.

Original story posted Dec. 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.

Neighborhoods in the Elm Street area are still without electricity after a car hit a utility pole near South and Elm Streets earlier this evening.

As of press time, the box (which was on a double pole) was on the sidewalk. NStar's website reports 170 Medfield homes are without electricity, and they are working on the problem.
