PHOTOS: Medfield Remembers Veterans on Memorial Day

The Medfield community paid tribute to the men and women who have served and currently serve in our country's military services during Memorial Day ceremonies at Baxter Park and a parade down Main Street Monday morning.

Lt. Col. Todd M. Caruso of the United States Marine Corps, delivered Medfield’s Memorial Day Address Monday morning in front of his hometown community assembled around Baxter Park.

Lt. Col. Caruso reminded those gathered around the park that Memorial Day is not about summer, barbecues and parades – though it is perfectly fine to celebrate our nation’s freedom with such things – but it is truly about remembering those who have served and who have died protecting our freedoms. Lt. Col. Caruso also told his hometown crowd to remember the family members and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, because those families have also sacrificed for the greater good of our nation.

So as we gather with friends and family on this Memorial Day, take a moment to thank active duty military personnel, or a military veteran, but also take time to reflect and remember all those who have died and made the ultimate sacrifice to make this country what it is today.
