Pet of the Week: Meet 'Jack'

Jack is available for adoption at the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Jack is a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who is between 6 and 8 years old, according to the Medfield Animal Shelter.

"Don't let the grey hair around the eyes fool you though - when given the chance he loves to run fast and could easily be mistaken for a younger dog," the shelter said. "He is crate trained and will sit by the door when he needs to go out."

Though Jack can handle stairs, he has no interest in going upstairs and would do best in a home without young children, since he doesn't seem comfortable around them, the shelter said.

"He loves walks and hikes and does very well on the leash," the shelter said. "Nothing makes him happier then seeing other dogs at the dog park and he has never been agressive with any other dog."

Jack may get lonely as the only pet and would enjoy being with another dog. He also shows adventure.

"He is curious and has a great sense of smell, so a fenced in yard would work best for him," the shelter said. "If provided with some excercise in the morning he will spend most of the day sleeping. He loves stuffed animals and has his favorites. He is a very good natured and sweet dog."
