Pet of the Week: Meet 'Emma'

Emma is currently available for adoption at the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Emma was brought to the shelter in June 2010, after she was found out wandering in Framingham.

The family that rescued her wanted to keep her, but she just didn't get along with their other cat. After a few months at the shelter, she was finally adopted. Sadly, she was returned to the shelter recently, because her owner moved into senior housing that doesn't allow cats.

She is an older cat, approximately 10 years old and is very sweet, according to the shelter, but prefers to be an only cat. She is a gentle and mellow kitty who would probably enjoy a quiet home.

The shelter did recently discover that she loves fresh catnip and acts like a playful kitten when you give it to her. Since Emma is older, the shelter said it would waive the adoption fee for her if she is adopted by a senior, since it thinks she would be a perfect companion for someone looking for a cat past the crazy kitten stage.

Emma is so stressed at the shelter that she is now taking kitty Prozac, which does seem to be helping, but what she really needs is a home where she will be the only cat. Please call (508) 359-8989 if you are interested in giving Emma a loving home.
