NSTAR: Power Expected to be Fully Restored in Medfield by Friday

According to NSTAR's website, the 155 Medfield customers still without power as of Thursday morning are expected to be restored by Friday at 11 a.m.

There's encouraging news from NSTAR Thursday morning for the 155 Medfield customers still without power from Sunday's .

The utility that serves 4,774 customers in Medfield said on its website that it expects Medfield to be fully restored of power by Friday at 11 a.m.

On Tuesday, and it was estimated full restoration would be Saturday night. On Wednesday, that number was down to 231 and as of 4 a.m. Thursday morning those without power in town is down to 155 customers. NSTAR has made progress and lowered the percentage of Medfield customers without power to 3.25 percent over the last two days.

"NSTAR is making great progress in restoring our customers," the utility's website said. "Though there's still a way to go, we have been able to shorten the amount of time we anticipate customers will be without power."

For those Medfield residents still without power, Superintendent of Schools Bob Maguire said .

As of Thursday morning, NSTAR said it has approximately 15,000 customers without power, down from 84,000 Tuesday morning. 

"The outages are widely scattered, with the areas most affected being the South Shore, Cape Cod and MetroWest," NSTAR's website said. "We appreciate your continued patience as we work to recover from this devastating event."

NSTAR said crews will continue to work around the clock until all customers are restored; "concentrating first on making the repairs that will benefit the largest number of customers." 

NSTAR encourages customers whose electric service is affected to report it by calling 1-800-592-2000.
