New Island Garden Continues to Grow on Hospital Road in Medfield

The garden was installed by the Medfield Garden Club.

A newly-sprung garden installed on an island on Hospital Road in Medfield is making its mark this summer.

The Medfield Garden Club installed the garden in an effort to form a "lovely example of collaboration between the selectmen's office, the Department of Public Works and the Medfield Garden Club with the common goal of beautifying the town of Medfield," wrote Nancy Tella of the Medfield Garden Club in a letter to Medfield Patch last month.

To install the garden, crews pulled up green asphalt in the area, dug up soil and placed large stone as focal points. The garden was subsequently planted and mulched.
