Meetinghouse Steeple Tours Offered on Medfield Day

The popular steeple tours at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church returns to the list of Medfield Day activities, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 17.

Ever wonder what the view of downtown Medfield is like from the steeple of the on North Street?

If you have then you're in luck as the church ill be offering Steeple tours on Medfield Day on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Here’s your chance to get a different perspective of downtown Medfield. The popular steeple tours will be held every half hour from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the church.

This meetinghouse/church, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1789. It’s the oldest in Medfield that’s still open to the public.

  • The town clock turret
  • Tower bell
  • Unique shipwright construction
  • Chance to experience a bird’s eye view of the town square.

Each tour is limited to eight participants; advance reservations are recommended and can be made via e-mail: bbunger@verizon.net or by phone at (508) 359-4058.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The tour involves climbing steep stairs - this tour is not for the faint of heart or weak of knee. Donations to support the preservation of the building will be gratefully appreciated.
