Medfield Rail Trail Information Meeting to be Held April 7 at Senior Center

The Medfield Rail Trail Study Committee will be at the Senior Center on Saturday, April 7 to give a brief presentation followed by a Q&A session.

A Medfield Rail Trail information session will be held at the Medfield Senior Center on Ice House Road on Saturday, April 7 from 10 to noon. 

The Bay Colony Rail Trail Study Committee will give a brief presentation, which will be followed by a Q&A session. Residents are encouraged to attend to find out what’s happening on the proposed rail trail, which will run from Medfield to Needham.

The and tasked by Medfield's Board of Selectmen to consider various questions and issues regarding the rail trail and to ultimately aide the selectmen in deciding whether or not the town should proceed with participating in the proposed trail.

In a Nov. 14, 2011 unscientific poll, Medfield Patch asked readers and 86 percent of voters (50 of 58) said yes.

Article 25 of this year's Annual Town Warrant asks residents to vote at Town Meeting to authorize the exploration of constructing a recreational bike and multi-use trail along a former rail line between Ice House Road and the Dover town line.
