Medfield Obituaries: July 20-27

The following are Medfield obituaries compiled from Roberts Mitchell Funeral Service from July 20-27. Long-time town employee Mary Luciano died on July 21 after a brief illness.

 

Luciano, Mary P. (Kent), age 71, of Norton and formerly of Medfield and West Roxbury, where she has been a resident since 2004, died Saturday July 21, at the Massachusetts General Hospital with her family by her side, following a brief illness.

Born and raised in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston, Mary was a daughter of the late William and Mary (McNulty) Kent.

A graduate of the former St. Claire’s High School in Roslindale, she later continued her education at the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston.

Formerly of Medfield and West Roxbury, Mary retired after many years as secretary for Town of Medfield Water and Sewer Department.

The beloved wife of the late Louis Paul Luciano for 50 years, she is survived by her five children, Louis P. Luciano Jr. of Columbia MD, William Luciano and his wife Teresa of Foxborough, James Luciano of Marshfield, Mary Resteghini and her husband Carl of Attleboro and Anne O’Neil of Mansfield. Mary was the sister of William H. Kent and his wife Maureen of Wellesley and Ursula Lanigan of Jamaica Plain. Also survived by her 14 cherished grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated this past week at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange Street, Millis, and burial was at Vine Lake Cemetery Medfield.
