Medfield Lions' Annual Christmas Tree Sale Runs Through Dec. 18

Stop by the Medfield Lions Club's tree sale in the Shaw's parking lot to purchase your holiday tree.

Editor's note: The following release was submitted by Anthony Centore.

Still need a Christmas tree? take a short ride down Main Street to the parking lot and shop at the Lions Club annual Christmas tree sale.

The sale, which runs through Dec. 18, has become the Medfield Lions Club’s principal fundraiser and features freshly sheared, USDA Premium Grade Maine Balsam Fir Christmas trees. While there are both smaller and a limited number of larger trees, most trees fall in the range of 6 to 8 feet.

The sale will be held in the parking lot at Shaw’s Plaza, near. Hours of operation are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday, and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Not only does the Lions Christmas tree sale raise money for charity, it also helps members of the community at the same time. Every year, the Lions let customers direct $5 of the purchase price of their tree to the Medfield charity of their choice if they bring in a coupon (or ask for one at the tree lot) when they make their purchase.

The coupon can also be found in the school system’s Thursday packets throughout the month of December. This year customers will have the option of directing $5 to either the Medfield Food Cupboard or the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Another way the Lions Christmas tree sale helps out in the community is with the donation of approximately 20 trees a year to the Medfield Food Cupboard, which distributes the trees to those in needs.
