Medfield Animal Shelter Trying to Reunite Dog with Family

The Medfield Animal Shelter is taking care of a young male dog recovering from injuries after being hit by a car on Dec. 27. The shelter is hoping to reunite this dog with his family

This young male dog (see photo above) was rescued by Medfield Animal Control officer Jenny Gates after he was hit by a car on Dec. 27, according to Kim Agricola of the Medfield Animal Shelter.

He was on Route 27 in Medfield near Hospital Road, not far from the Sherborn town line and may have been running for a few days since there had been reports of a loose dog the day before, according to Agricola.

After being treated at Tufts Emergency Vet in Walpole, he is now recovering at the Medfield Animal Shelter.

"He is very scared, which is understandable and we would love to reunite him with his owner," Agricola said. "He was not wearing a collar and does not have a microchip. His owner should call the Medfield Animal Shelter at (508) 359-8989 to claim him. If we are unable to reunite him with his family, he will be available for adoption after Jan. 6."
