Local Artist Uses Local Landmarks for Cards and Prints

Local photographer Lisa McDonald has created a notecard and postcard line around Medfield's special places.

Local photographer and artist Lisa McDonald now has a line of notecards and postcards that highlight her favorite spots in Medfield.

McDonald worked with Jim James, owner of Park Street Books & Toys, to create a line that was relevant to Medfield. The cards are now available at the bookstore for $2 each.

"I went around town to all the places that mean something to me, that are special, and I created postcards and notecards so that people could share my vision of Medfield with their families and friends," said McDonald. "I'm just trying to share what we believe is such a wonderfully unique part of our town."

Featured landmarks include:

  • Welcome to Medfield sign (blue)
  • Kingsbury Grist Mill
  • Lord's Department Store
  • Town Gazebo
  • Town Tower Clock
  • Meetinghouse Pond
  • Rocky Woods
  • and more
McDonald said that every place she photographed has a special meaning for her because they have historical relevance but also because she has gone there with her children.

McDonald said that people have already started to send the cards to families who have moved out of town.

"People that I know have started to send them to families that have moved away and that touches my heart because that's the whole intention: to always remember our special place that is Medfield," she said.

Prints can be found on the second floor of Park Street Books. The cost is $15 for a matted 5x7, and $25 for a matted 8x10.
