Last Chance: Medfield Animal Shelter Holding Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic for Cats

The next clinic – exclusively for cats – is scheduled for April 24th.

Each month, the Medfield Animal Shelter receives approximately 200
calls and e-mails from people inquiring about low-cost spay/neuter
services.

Most of the calls come from owners that struggle to afford even the cost of annual check-ups and immunizations for their cats, and simply cannot afford the cost of spay/neuter surgery at a veterinarian’s office.

Well, the shelter has good news for those people as its providing a low-cost spay/neuter clinic on April 24 at the shelter.

Since spay/neuter is the only way to effectively and humanely address the cat overpopulation problem, the Medfield Shelter made a significant investment, which was made possible by a generous donor, to create a small surgical suite that could be used to host low-cost spay/neuter clinics once or twice a month.

The next clinic (exclusively for cats) is scheduled for April 24th. The cost is $85 for females and $75 for males and includes a rabies vaccination. Additional vaccinations and flea/tick treatments are available at a small additional cost. The cats must come to the clinic in a hard-sided cat carrier. They spend the whole day at the shelter and are ready to go home in the late afternoon or early evening. The shelter will also be holding clinics on May 15th and June 6th.
